Abstract: Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus agalactiae and Streptococcus dysgalactiae were isolated respectively from dairy cows with mastitis. Minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimal bactericidal concentration (MBC) of twelve kinds of Chinese medicinal herbs and their compounds against the mentionedabove bacteria were detected respectively by the twofold dilution me thod in vitro. Results showed that both MIC and MBC of Lonicerae flos, Forsythiae fructus and Taxaci herba and their compound were higher than those of the other Chinese medicinal herbs respectively.
