Abstract: Twentyfour Echinococcus granulosus isolates, which were collected from Qinghai Province, Gansu Province and Xinjiang Region in China, were examined with CO1, ND1 and ITS2 sequencing to investigategenotype of the isolates. The results were as follows. All the Echinococcus granulosus isolates were identified to be the common sheep strain (G1 genotype). When nucleotide sequences of both CO1 gene and ND1 gene were compared, variation percentage of 0-0.8% and 0.1%-0.7% existed respectively. Variation percentage of ITS2 of the isolates from Qinghai Province was 0.4%-3.1%. Two isolates from Qinghai Province and one isolate from Gansu Province had nonsynonymous substitations at the differentpositions of CO1 gene and NO1 gene sequences, which resulted in one amino acid replacement substitution. The study indicated that one strain (G1 genotype) existed in parts of Qinghai, Gansu and Xinjiang.
