Abstract:Pathological changes of Xiphophorus helleri infected with Aeromonas hydrophila were observed completely in this study. The results were as follows. Infection outbreak was an impatient process, and the peak time of death was at
10-15h postinfection. Histopathological changes were characterized by general hemolytic anemia, extensive cellular degeneration and necrosis. Cardinal symptoms and pathological changes came about from 5 to
24h postinfection. Injection sites and gills were damaged initially. Finally the infected animals died because of organic structure breakage, function adynamia and asphxia.
