Abstract: DNA vaccine is a new type vaccine, which can induce cellular and humoral immune responses, and plays an important role in the prevention and control of diseases. In the present article, previous studies on DNA vaccines were briefly reviewed, and the structural characteristics of dicistronic expression plasmid and its application in studies of gene adjuvants and bivalent DNA vaccines were summarized. Advantages and problems of dicistronic expression plasmids were outlined and analyzed. Prospects and future research directions for dicistronic expression plasmids in the development of DNA vaccines were discussed. |
